Hi,

there is no safe way how to remove the drum without the proper tool. You may try hitting the perimeter of the drum with a big hamer.

The brake pads will probably be worn out too much and the automatic brake pad adjusting mechanism stiff.

There is posibility to move the scale beam on the lever. There are 3 holes to fix the pin of the beam. You have to remove the cotter, move the pin of the beam and put the cotter again into its hole.

You cannot adjust anything under the brake drum, you need to remove it only if you exchange the cables, cylindres or brake pads.
Thanks for your reply.

Both handbrake cables can\'t be adjusted anymore since they are allready at their maximum position.
Hi Bart,

to adjust a handbrake You don´t have to take down the brake drum. In front of back seats on the floor on the "tunnel", there is a black piece of black plastic, that You take out and thery You see two screws which You have to tight little bit. That is all.

Hi,

I\'m new to this forum and would like to ask you some advice. Sorry that I can\'t understand any Czech, so I hope you\'ll understand English.

My 1987 105 needs a handbrake cable adjustment on its rightside rear wheel asap (tomorrow). For this the brake drum has to be taken off and I know this might be a problem that takes a lot of time.

As my garage doesn\'t have a special Skoda hub-puller I hope you know some alternative methods to remove the brake drum that do the trick as well.

Any advice and comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bart (The Netherlands)
